I absolutely love oatmeal in the morning because I think it’s the perfect breakfast to start your day but I wanted to try something different. I realized that the other wonderful grains that we eat for dinner can easily be used to make a delicious morning cereal. Of course oatmeal is a nutritious way to start the morning but it’s time to start exploring with some of these other exciting grain options that are out there that are equally nutritious and amazing tasting! One of my new favorites is Farro which has 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. That is pretty cool right?
I also learned that you can make this cereal ahead by leaving it in the slow cooker in a bain-marie (heated bath) over night at a low temperature. In the morning when you wake up all you have to do is mix the rest of the ingredients and you are ready to go!
